Kanji is a Punk (Retrogasm 2018 Finalist, Persona 4)

For the newest round of the Retrogasm character art competition I wanted to do a sculpt based on a character I relate to, Kanji from Persona 4. In concepting the idea, I decided to incorporate the pose from one of my favorite punk rock images, the Circle Jerks logo. It's a pretty dynamic character pose with lots of movement and accessories, and I haven't done a recent human character that shows my current skill level. So I combined elements from Kanji into the design and went for a stylized look in the face and details. My Kanji ended up earning an Honorable Mention among 20 finalists in the contest.
